"I was in the throws of alcoholism, drug use, and prescription drug abuse when God spoke to me in an alleyway in Mankato Minnesota. I heard an audible voice ask if I was tired of this? When I responded Yes, He said get up and live for me. I arose completely sober, went to my hotel room, showered, and went home to be with my wife and kids. It took the better part of a decade to be freed from my alcoholism, but God grew me and prepared me for a decade. Today I am proud to be the Founder of Souled Out Ministries. We are the catalyst between those the world has forgotten about and God. We seek to help fulfill the Great Commission and grow the Kingdom of God. I know that God delivered me from death and that by simply surrendering to Jesus Christ on a daily basis He will do the same for anyone else. That is the Power of God! "Both of my parents were arrested after the death of my brother. My testimony of what I saw that day, as a four-year-old, helped convict our dad of reckless homicide and our mother of failure to protect. We had been on the run evading law enforcement for three years at that point. They had created false documents with our fake names on them after people began to suspect child abuse. For years, I hated God for letting so much harm come to my brother and I. His existence was never a matter of question. To me, it was always obvious that there was a God. He showed up in my darkest moments, especially during my times as a homeless teenager. I lived my life as a self-destructive rebellion not caring who I hurt or what I was doing. I was hurt and searching for anything that would numb the pain. One time, I was aimlessly wandering the neighborhood I lived in when I heard God speak to me, "They will answer for their sins, but you will answer for yours". I knew that everything I had done up to that point was out of anger and retaliation, and I had nothing to hide behind. I was responsible for my actions just as my parents were responsible for theirs. I could no longer live as a victim. Since then, I have thankfully discovered God's forgiveness of sin through Jesus' death and resurrection. He has now given me life and a future with a husband and children, He is also continually giving me understanding and peace about my past."

"I grew up in a home that went to church every Sunday. I started knowing more and more about Jesus as an adult. I then got mixed up in a wrong crowd of friends. One compromise led to another and soon I was so deep into sin. I was at an art show, standing outside of my booth, looking blindly into the crowd, thinking, "how do I go back? Jesus probably doesn't want me back." As soon as that thought crossed my mind, I saw a man in the crowd, walking straight for me. He neither looked to the right or the left, passing by all other booths. He came right up to me, looked at my art and then told me a story about a horrible military leader from another country who shot children for luck before going into a battle. That militarily leader started having dreams of a man saying, "repent and turn away." He didn't know what these dreams were about. One day he took his gun to shoot a boy before a battle, and the gun dissolved in his hands. He was terrified. Then missionaries came to his area, and as he kept having these dreams, the missionaries explained that they were dreams of Jesus, calling him to repent and turn away from his sins. He ended up giving his life to Jesus, was cleansed and forgiven, made into a new creation and now tells others about Jesus. This man in my booth then said to me, "I don't know why, but the Holy Spirit sent me here to tell you this story." I started to laugh and cry at once. Jesus loves me so much, that dispite the pit of sin I dug myself into, at the very moment I thought I want to go back but I don't know how and that He probably didn't want me back, Jesus sent this man to show me that He wanted me back, and all I had to do was repent and turn away. I never saw this man again, he has no idea how his obeying the Holy Spirit had brought me back to Jesus and a new life in Christ, saving my marriage and probably children's faith too. God is so good, always obey the Holy Spirit, you never know when your obedience can change an eternity."
